Who We Are
The mission of the Georgia Military College Foundation is to secure and prudently manage private gifts in support
of Georgia Military College and foster a culture that unites philanthropic desires with college priorities.
The Georgia Military College Foundation was established in 1955 as the official fundraising arm of Georgia Military
College. It is a separate, independent organization that is chartered by the State of Georgia as a 501 (c) (3) nonprofit
educational corporation. Gifts to the foundation are tax deductible to the full extent of the law.
A volunteer board of trustees governs the foundation. A ten-member executive committee elected from the membership
of the board meets monthly and is authorized to act on the trustees’ behalf.
What We Do and Why
Staff members of the Georgia Military College Office of Advancement work with the foundation under the leadership
of the Vice President for Advancement, also the Executive Director of the foundation. The foundation works in
partnership with the president of Georgia Military College and other institutional leadership to generate private
funding in support of identified priorities for the college. The foundation is dedicated to prudently managing
these funds to meet current needs as well as securing the future for Georgia Military College and its students.
The college has already demonstrated that it can meet the great educational challenges presented in times of prosperity
or economic hardship and in peace or war. Meeting those challenges continues to be the job of dedicated people who
remain mindful of the importance of the past, committed to the mission and purpose we have for the present, and eager
to tackle whatever challenges the future may bring.
The progress the foundation is experiencing is due in no small part to the love, hope and confidence shown by the
college’s supporters through faithfully and sacrificially investing in the promise of GMC’s future and that of its
students.
